February 9th

Picture-A-Day:

I'm reading the Harry Potter series for the 2nd time. The first time, Derrick and I read it together. It was fun, but after seeing the movie that came out last summer(?) I felt like I needed to re-read it on my own. I feel like I soak it in better if I can see the words. I'm a visual learner, so listening to someone else read makes it a little tough to really absorb all the details. Though it is soothing, and it was a great thing to do together. Anyway, I'm on the 4th book, The Goblet of Fire. I think this is my least favorite. It's too sports-oriented for me. The first half is the Quiddich World Cup, and the 2nd half is the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Yes, there's lots of other things involved too, don't get me wrong, it's just taking me a lot longer to get through this book than the first three did. It's a much longer book, true, but there's just that "can't-wait-to-get-back-to-my-book" feeling. It's also been an extremely busy and stressful time for me, and I find at the end of some days I'm just too tired to read even a chapter.
I did read a chapter last night. I went to bed early because I had a really frazzling day with the kids. My plan was just to lay in bed and read for 2 uninterrupted hours, but after a half hour I got really drowsy. So I only read one chapter, and then went to sleep. I woke up in a good mood this morning, so hopefully it will carry out into the day, and it will be a good day.

  1. That is so funny - the 4th book is my favorite (tied with the 6th book) I love the different wizarding schools and the Ron-Hermionie-Viktor love triangle. We get to see more of the weasly house.

The 5th book is the one I like the least... but in truth I LOVE all of them! : )
