Coloring Easter Eggs

I made my own egg dye this year using about 2T of vinegar and a few drops of food coloring. Then we used q-tips to paint the dye onto the eggs. It worked amazingly well, and even gave some of the eggs a really cool, tie-dye look. I also used paper towel and TP tubes to make little holders for the eggs. I had the kids each color on a tube with marker, then cut them into short pieces. You'll see them in the pictures. I found the idea on a website, but I can't remember which one.

This is mine. I was testing out the different colors. I think it turned out cool.

I had to laugh at the way the kids' personality styles came out in their egg painting (see the pictures below). Sage did each egg in only one color. (She likes things to be "just so.") Jayna's were multi-colored and speckled looking (she's very haphazard about the way she does things, not caring if her socks match, things like that). And Alyssa's had smiley faces and polka dots on them (she's very artsy and decorative, and likes to make funky designs).
