Signs of Spring - Garage sales and gardens

JasmineRussian Sage

Alyssum

Garage sale season is my favorite. It's a little early yet, but I've been to a few already. Yesterday I bought a dining room table and chairs for $15! They're not real fancy, but they're a lot nicer than what we had! We set our old table out on the curb with a "free" sign on it, and it was gone in less than a half hour! We didn't even put the chairs with it!
Also, last night Derrick and I bought a bunch of seeds for our garden. We've been planning (since last summer) to do a veggie garden this year. So we stocked up on veggie seeds, as well as some flowers - Sunflowers and Alyssum (for Alyssa) to add to our flower beds, and some herbs - I've always wanted to do a little herb garden. I already started some Sage - Sage is excited about "her" plant. Now I have to find some Jasmine for Jayna (Jasmine is her middle name). I'm not even sure if it's a tree, or a little plant, or what. If anybody has any tips on keeping cats from defiling our gardens, please share! Our next door neighbor likes to feed every cat in the world, and they like to come to our house to poop! Yeah, that's fun.

  1. Hey Jeannine,
Jasmine is a vine type plant typical to the Southern regions. You could probably grow one in the midwest if you did it in a planter and kept it inside during the winter. I think temps need to be above 50's to keep it alive. And it needs lots of sun. I have one I've kept in a large planter. I bought it when it was about 2feet high, and now it is about 4 1/2 to 5 foot. It has the most delicious flowers when it blooms. I'm still learning how to care for it, but it is really lovely.

I think it was you who sent me the comment about posting the videos right? Well as long as you have the newest version of blogger, then the button right next to where you upload the pictures is for videos. It takes a long time, but it is worth it.

Blessings. It's good to see you here on a more regular basis these days! :)
