New Camera

I bought a camera! I'm pretty excited, but I'm kind of settling for WAY less than what I wanted. I was hoping to spend two or three hundred dollars on a really nice, used camera that was at least twice that price when it was new. But, things keep coming up and we just haven't been able to afford it. I've been kind of depressed lately about not having a camera. The camcorder thing just isn't working for me. I'm totally uninterested in using it because it takes horrible pictures. It works ok for the purpose of documentation, but it just doesn't take the kind of really good pictures I want. (I should clarify, it works great as a camcorder, and I love it for that - just not for taking photos).

So I decided in the last couple days that since I can't afford a $300 camera, and it doesn't look like I'll be able to any time soon, I would rather have a camera, ANY camera, that works relatively well, than nothing at all. So, I've been very busy perusing ebay for the best deals out there, and this morning I won a bid. It's a Fuji FinePix F460, 5.1mp. It's a regular point and shoot, nothing fancy, not new, not the latest model. But, the total price including shipping was $30.50. It's really the best deal (in my price range, which was under $50) I've seen on ebay or craigslist, or anything out there.

What I really want is a Canon EOS Rebel, but they're going on ebay for over $400. But my theory is, now I'll have something to kind of hold me over until I can save some money for a good camera, and one that I really want, rather than trying to get something that's good, and at a good price, but not exactly what I want.

So... I bought it today, it's supposed to be shipping on Tuesday from California, so hopefully it will be in my posession by the end of the week, so you can all look forward to seeing pictures on the blog again, instead of boring things like my taco seasoning recipe.
