Weekend Getaway

Derrick and I got to go camping this weekend without any kids!! It was wonderful! We went to Potato Creek State Park, about a half hour from home. We mostly read books, played cribbage, and took naps! Saturday we actually took 2 naps - one in the morning, and one in the afternoon. Hey, Sage does it everyday, why can't we once in awhile? It was really nice and a good time for the two of us to get some much-needed quality time together without any distractions.

Saturday night it rained a little bit, and we had decided to leave off the rain-fly because I like the fresh air blowing through the tent at night. So sometime in the middle of the night I woke up to the sound of raindrops and said "Honey, I think I hear raindrops." We both scrambled out of bed and tried, in the dark and rain, to put the rain-fly up so. It was inside out and we had to keep turning it to get in the right spot, but it kept us from getting wet. Just in time too, by the time we were back in bed the rain picked up quite a bit. Derrick said "next time we're putting up the rain-fly. You and your hippie ways..."
